Message from the Foundation for Eastern Christian School Executive Director, Maura Byrnes

Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about giving to Eastern Christian School. As we often say, “This is God’s school.” He has prepared and equipped each precious child in our midst. We treasure each one, as we watch them grow in the strength and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

These valued children will be EC graduates before we know it. As the mom to two EC alumni and one high school student, I can personally attest to this startling fact!

Our 6,000 alumni are Christ’s transforming agents worldwide. They are living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in business, medicine, law, the arts, missions and in their homes, touching and changing lives through their work and lives.

Our graduates embrace diversity, exhibit compassion, offer respect, and are forgiving and open to others. They think critically, exhibit curiosity and develop the discernment that enables them to confidently and intentionally strive for excellence.

This is not by chance. Since 1892, faithful families have been impacting students’ lives by praying as well as giving above and beyond tuition, making our school stronger and better for the next generation.

Join our legacy of prayerful philanthropy! We humbly request that each family and every graduate make a gift to the Annual Fund that is personally meaningful.

The Annual Fund is a term that refers to all of the unrestricted money that a school raises, which can represent 10-25% of the yearly operating budget. Tuition does not cover the full cost of education in the US. Annual giving programs exist, in part, to help keep tuition lower than it might otherwise be. Annual Fund gifts are often directed toward the area of greatest need. At EC, the Annual Fund benefits every student, on every campus, everyday. In addition, your Annual Fund gifts also help us to leverage foundation grants. When we apply, we are asked about parent and alumni participation, which is measured by giving. The higher the participation rate, the more likely it will be that we receive grants.

In addition to the Annual Fund, the Foundation raises private support for three initiatives:  Academic Excellence, Innovation, and Scholarships.

Together as partners, we enrich the overall student experience.

Please join us in enhancing our vibrant Christ-centered school. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions or feedback. I welcome your input.

In the meantime, please pray for our school, students, faculty, staff, and volunteer leaders, as we lift up you and your loved ones, too.

Warmly,

Maura Byrnes
Executive Director
